Yorkshire Masters Championships 2012

Last weekend saw another of our Masters swimmers get back into the competition pool, for something other than the Bridon Shield, for the first time in a long time! Richard Ellis took the plunge and had a pretty hefty schedule. During the one day gala Richard swam 7 events and came away with 7 medals, including 2 gold!

100 back - silver
50 fly – bronze
100 free - bronze
200 free - gold
50 back - gold
50 free - bronze
100 IM – silver

Richard’s comments at training the following day suggested that the racing was a little bit of a shock to the system, so lets hope he doesn’t leave it another 20 years before the next gala.

That means we now have Richard, Paul, Gav, Wayne and Tina ready and willing to enter open meets (and doing well in them) – so come on girls, we need one more person to commit to racing to make a mixed relay. Who’s it going to be?!

P.S. Short Course National Masters are in October at Ponds Forge, hint, hint!!!
