Winter Yorkshires

posted 21 Oct 2016, 08:15 by Pete Hardy
Last weekend saw the older Armthorpe swimmers compete at the Winter Yorkshires in Leeds and they certainly put on a good show maybe spurred on by the visit of Max Litchfield a couple of weeks earlier.
Harvey Williamson, Simon Kliment, Charlotte Howard, Tilly Arrand, Chantelle Waugh And Adam Akram all came away with medals. Notably Harvey who gained 2 gold, 2 silvers and a bronze (how does he do it on the training he does??) and Simon with 3 silver and 1 bronze.
Marise Garbutt, Hannah Newham, Ajay Scott. Casey Waugh. Lucy Clarke and Millie Colbear all had top 10 finishes and overall there were 58 PB's.  Jack Durose managed an excellent PB in 50m Breast even though he has missed 6 weeks of training through illness recently.
Well done to all our swimmers we are proud of you all.
Many thanks to the DARTES coaches Andy, Alison and Julia for making sure the swimmers all arrived on time for their races and giving great feedback after every race.
Finally, good luck to all the swimmers who are going to the NER's in Sunderland.
