Under 12's Friendly Gala at Dearne Valley

Friday nights are not normally reserved for galas, but when Dearne Valley invited us down to their pool to match up against their under 12's we jumped at the chance. Both teams had two lanes a piece so lots of different swimmers had the chance to swim, and several of the Armthorpe swimmers had the opportunity to race events that they wouldn't normally be entered in. It was also a great chance for our 12 year old's to show a little bit of leadership, as they were the oldest age group. Kelsey, Toni, Morgan and Georgia were fantastic all night, not just swimming well and bringing in some great points for the team, but constantly cheering for anyone and everyone swimming for Armthorpe - thank you girls!! A big 'well done' also needs to go to all those swimmers who were swimming in their first gala, especially Nial Crane who had a very busy evening, swimming every individual event and the cannon in his first real gala as a Kingfisher and he did it all with a big smile, great to see!

I would also like to say thank you to Chris Allen and the rest of the Dearne Valley team for an excellently run and fun evening, I have no doubt that we'll re-run this gala next year.
