Pocklington League 1 Champions 2014

posted 11 Nov 2014, 11:53 by Clive Greenhalgh   [ updated 14 Nov 2014, 15:06 ]

Armthorpe compete in two main leagues, the BML and the Pocklington Times.  The Pocklington Times league is the premier club league in which we compete and it is the league that all clubs in the Yorkshire area wants to win.  Armthorpe are with the big boys in the first division taking on the behemoths that are Adwick, Wakefield City and Pocklington and each gala is hard fought with Adwick and Wakefield City in particular running us hard in each and every event.

Well this year, for the third year running, Armthorpe are the First Division Champions winning the last gala by a solitary point from Adwick and keeping hold of this much coveted trophy.

Many congratulations to all the swimmers and many thanks to the volunteers who look after and train our young athletes.

2014 has been a fantastic year for the club as we have now retained both the Bridon Shield and the Pocklington League trophies - the annual celebration night will be legendary :)
