Pocklington League 2011 - gala 4

York. High Roman walls surrounding the idyllic setting for an autumnal sunset. A beautiful city...Except when you have to take a short hike across a muddy field, in the freezing cold, scale a 7 foot fence, all while trying to find the two team managers. Let’s just say it was an entrance we will not forget (neither will the other teams!)

When we finally arrived at the pool, we all wanted a good performance to finish of the Pocklington league in style, 4 wins out of 4. Yet again, Armthorpe didn’t disappoint. Every swimmer had great swims, fighting off the competition from Adwick. Just to mention a couple, Jack Durose and Rebecca Christmas had a fantastic night of swims. Well done to all swimmers who took part in any the league galas.

It was really good to spend some time with the team all together. Even if it was just on the coach. It was great to see swimmers from many different sessions and lanes having a catch up or just discussing the swims (or laughing at pictures of David with long hair!) And a big thanks to Kelsey Wilson for supplying the Jaffa Cakes!

Well done Armthorpe! Let’s do the same next year!
