Pocklington at Armthorpe 31 January 2016

Wow one of the best gala's I have been to. It was well run with independent Referees (many thanks Rob and Julie) officials from all the clubs and many helpers. It was just as well as the poolside was packed with not a spare seat anywhere. This created a great atmosphere as fans from all the clubs were very vocal. The result was that we were treated to some great swimming by all the clubs. It was nice to see Joe Litchfield there representing Dearne Valley (for those who don't know Joe is part of the England swim squad) As far as Armthorpe are concerned we came second to a strong Adwick team a result that I was well pleased with. For our 11 year olds many swam 100 mtre races for the first time and did very well. All our swimmers swam very well which is reflected in 54 PB's a great achievement.
The final scores were : Dearne Valley   93   Wakefield  96    Armthorpe   132   Adwick   151
My thanks to all the Officials, Supporters (who accepted the cramped conditions with good humour) but mainly all the swimmers who did us proud.
