NER Success for Armthorpe swimmers

posted 4 Jun 2016, 03:04 by Pete Hardy
At the recent North Eastern Championships quite a few of our swimmers were in action and all competed well with both Charlotte Howard and Ben Wright winning a Gold and a Silver for 200 and 100 Backstroke respectively. Ben also won Gold's in 400 and 1500 Free - what a good couple of weekends he had. Well done Ben.  Good swims and lots of pb's from everyone not just those mentioned. All our swimmers are also members of the DARTES squad with the exception of Milly Colbear (finaled in 50 and 100 Breastroke) and Jack Durose (just back from having his appendix out) both swimmers pb'd. To get to the NER's with only Armthorpe training is a great achievement and speaks volumes for both the swimmers and quality of coaching our swimmers get.
Out of the NER's came qualification for the English Championships -Tilly Arrund, Charlotte Howard, Lucy Clarke, Chantelle Waugh and Georgia Wright and Invited to the British Championships (only the top 24 swimmers in Britain are invited) are:
Georgia Wright, Jarvis Parkinson, Simon Kliment, Charlotte Howard, Tilly Arrund  and Millie Colbear. This is a fantastic result, so many congratulations to all the swimmers and coaches. Good luck in July at Ponds Forge.
