Georgia had a great last meet winning medals and smashing records galore - well she has gone and done it again at the next big meet too.  She is the National Champion at 1000 yards and 1650 yards, smashing long held records along the way.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Freshman Georgia Wright (Doncaster, England) won the 1000-yard freestyle, breaking the NCAA Division II record in the process, on the first night of competition at the D2 Festival at the CrossPlex Wednesday evening.

Wright clocked a winning time of 9 minutes, 48.87 seconds, topping the national record set by Southern Connecticut State's Kristen Frost in the process. Teammate Tess Hayward (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) finished fourth in the 1000 with a time of 9:54.83.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Fr., Georgia Wright (Doncaster, England) won her second national championship, picking up her third All-America citation of the meet, as West Chester University's women's swimming & diving team placed eighth at the 2017 NCAA Division II Championships.

Wright, who also won the 1000-yard freestyle to open the meet, closed it with a win in the 1650 free. Her time of 16 minutes, 22.92 beat her seeding time by more than 15 seconds. She finished 13 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor from Grand Valley State.

Excellent work Georgia, we are all proud of you from this side of the pond.
