Bridon Shield 2013

posted 4 May 2013, 00:51 by Pete Hardy
On Sunday 28 April 2013, Doncaster’s swimming clubs came together to contest the annual DMASA Relay Swimming Championships. Armthorpe Kingfishers were crowned Champions for 2013 with 486 points over defending Champions Adwick (474 points). Out of the 45 events contested Armthorpe won 21 Golds, 21 silvers and 3 bronze. Chief Coach David Holmes said “The swimmers performed really well. For some of our younger swimmers this was their first real competition, but you would never have known that when watching them swim”

Each age group contested three different events and four of the Kingfishers teams walked away as undefeated –13/14 boys, 15/16 boys, over 25’s men and over 25’s women.

The next test for the Armthorpe squad is to defend their Pocklington League title from 2012. After winning the first of four galas in this season’s competition things are looking good for the trophy to stay put at Armthorpe Leisure Centre for another year.

Congratulations everyone.
