This was the final round of the season and as an experiment we used the pool at Rossington where there is much more space on poolside and more spectator room as well. From my point of view we lost the Armthorpe team atmosphere yesterday which was disappointing and I think this along with the summer break impacted on the quality of a lot of our swims. Scunthorpe and Sheffield both brought very strong teams so it was no surprise that Scunthorpe finished as clear winners. We again managed to maintain our good record of no DQ's so well done for that. In the individual races there were no huge pb's but the best was Mark Hanson reducing his 50m Backstroke pb by 1.97secs. Mark has just recovered from a broken wrist so this was a good time for him. We are now back in full training so lets all get stuck into it - there were a few disappointed swimmers with their times yesterday and there is only one solution - work harder in training.
The final result was:
Armthorpe  118    City of Sheffield  134    Scunthorpe  150     Chapletown  90
I think the final league positions are:
1. Scunthorpe            546
2. Armthorpe            530
3. City of Sheffield    482
4. Chapletown            407
These will have to be ratified by the league but well done to all swimmers for a successful season.
