Armthorpe win Doncaster Cup

posted 6 Oct 2019, 10:24 by Pete Hardy
In 2018 we were runners up and in 2019 we became champions and winners of the Doncaster Cup after an exciting gala against a strong Edlington team who had already beaten Scunthorpe and Adwick to reach the final. There were many great swims and also a lot of really close finishes (glad I wasn't a judge). In the end we ran out winners the scores being Armthorpe 59 and Edlington 48 points. Many thanks to the swimmers who came straight from a training session at DARTES and swam really well. Nick Honeybone is well worth a special mention because not only had he come straight from training but also swam 10 races in the 12 and 14 year old age groups. Check out your times because for sure there will be a lot of pb's.
As the club competitive season for 2019 comes to a close we can reflect on a great year - winners of the Doncaster Cup and Barnsley League Division 2 Champions so a huge well done to all our swimmers and thank you for making the year special.
Individual times are attached
